DVD OPTIONS

Post by sandovalpr@prtc.net »

I would like to have the option to mark certain dvd's that maybe are
for adult only or any other criteria I choose to HIDE those records
from other viewers with a password (hide personal records, etc.)

For example If I show my database to my nephews or friends and
I don't want to show certain dvds I could do it.

Thanks!

I vote for password protection on DVDpedia.

Thanks for the idea. We might do that in the future but for now you could get around the problem by creating separate databases, so certain entries will be kept apart from your regular library. To create separate databases,

- export the entries you want to keep apart in .dvdpedia format
- quit DVDpedia and then restart it while holding down the option key
- choose 'Create database' from the window that pops up and choose a location and a name for the new database
- double-click the exported .dvdpedia file to import it into the newly created database.

Now you can restart DVDpedia again with the option-key held down, click on 'Choose database', choose your original database and delete the exported entries from it.

To switch between the databases, use the option-key during start up of the program.

I picked up that tip from one of the other threads, but thanks all the same.

The ability to this without having to quit would be an effective upgrade

Keep up the good work
