Re: Custom Field types

I'm not really sure if I understood you correctly, but I suppose you want a different type of custom field that works similarly to e.g. the field of Starring/Director/Writer... that is possible, you need to find its type. I don't know how it's called in English, in German it is "Eigenes Schlagw...

Re: DVDpedia 4.6.8, El Capitan, and Spotlight

Ermh, for me, the Amazon search works quite well in the newest pedias. It's a little annoying to configure, but then it works without problems as far as I can remember... Sorry if I understood you wrong, but it seems to me that an update to the newest version would not bring any problems to you, sin...

Re: CDpedia als Cloud-Version

Das klingt mir mit Export/Import nicht so richtig schwierig... ansonsten machen wir es in unserer Familie gerade so, dass wir die DV...

Re: Duration for Tracks in CDPedia

I'm not sure, if I understood your solution correctly, but nevertheless, I'd like to add 2 workarounds and 1 additional idea for a solution for multiple-CD-albums: Workarounds a) before replacing the tracks of the first disc with the ones of the second, go to the tracks window, select all (cmd+a) an...

Re: Show Cover display corrupted

I definitely know this image problem, but until now I did not know the trigger, so thanks for posting that. It's not that dramatic, because it's only a cosmetic problem that's gone as soon as you select another entry, but anyways it does not look as good as the rest. :) I found out, that there is a ...

Re: smart list update point

Ah, thanks again. The feature feels good in using it. Maybe it's even better than mouseup this way because you can check the result when the change is done completely. I like the timing, it gives plenty of time to add and correct a star-rating and just before I might ask myself if it is actually upd...

It will be helpful for sure, please post your experiences! I thought about things like that, too, but did not yet have the time to try it out myself.

Re: Seaching doghouse using the dogTag number

Sounds very useful, all of them. It's many possibilities, but it does not sound like overkill, because everything is connected to its part in the interface. Great job! :)

Re: HTML Export to share library

I suppose iCloud won't be any better in this case than Dropbox, because both of them are designed to keep personal data synced or from time to time share something with some friends and not to host webpages with theoretically unlimited viewers. To run it as a webpage, you'll need a web server/webspa...

Re: smart list update point

Hi Conor, thanks for your fast response! I actually had the problem in CDpedia, but I tried it out in your linked version of bookpedia and it seems nothing has changed, it's still updated immediately (I can even hold mouse down and the list will shrink at high speed). Then I discovered, that you pro...

Re: timezone assumption when importing timestamps

Ah OK, so you know more about the internals of dvdpedia than me. Anyways, if you are right, it will be easy to find the answer to your question by importing a (small) test.csv and just checking manually if the result is as you want it, and if not, use a calc-application like Numbers or LibreOffice C...

smart list update point

Hi Bruji, I want to request that smart lists should only be updated on mouseup/completing entry modification. The reason is the following: I have a smart list "not yet rated". If I now want to rate any entry in it, I can do this only using complete stars and have now chance to check if I a...

Re: HTML Export to share library

What is not working, the use of Dropbox as a web server (direct linking via e.g. public folder to .html-file and opening it with a browser)? Since Dropbox is not meant to be used this way, they might prevent this technically (e.g. links in the .html might not work), but I did not try it out myself. ...
