Certainly some built-in support for the back covers of DVDs (instead of having to use the Link feature) would be very welcome. I understand that many look-up sites don't provide back covers, but some of us are putting that information in manually, or maintaining libraries of DVD's that are not in th...

Thanks, Conor. I was able to set up the Saved Search after viewing the video (and turning Spotlight off and back on in DVDpedia). Coverflow for pedia items is a great bonus, and it's very nice that QuickLook will show me the cover and all the info for a DVD! One question for anyone who's experienced...

Having just done this yesterday, I can report that Apple's Migration Assistant works beautifully on DVDpedia items. The very first time I launched DVDpedia on the new iMac, everything was there and worked identically.

Any tips on using new Leopard features with the pedias?

I know Spotlight has all pediaitems indexed. Has anyone played with Saved Searches in Finder, or QuickLook, or new Spotlight capabilities to better access pediaitems and their metadata when the program's not running? I tried setting up a Saved Search with kind=pediaitem, but haven't been able to get...

danco (and everyone else), the Bug Reports forum only appears when you are logged in to the Bruji forums. You won't see it when you're not logged in.

It's stuff like this that I find so amazing about Bruji's products. I've been a user for over a year, and I read these forums regularly, and I never knew this. OF COURSE, it works just like iPhoto! Keep up the amazing work, Conor and Nora, and thank you! I'm constantly stunned at the high quality of...

I re-downloaded DVDpedia and re-installed, and sure enough, that fixed the problem! I don't own Toast and I haven't updated Quicktime in a while--my version is 3.1.5. But I'm REALLY glad you could fix it inside DVDpedia, thanks!

Cover image drag out no longer working in 3.60

I'm no longer able to drag a cover image out from DVDpedia onto my desktop as a JPG. When I drag it from its display below "Collections", it turns into a JPG icon, but there's also the circle with the line through it "NO" symbol. I'm sure this worked before. I think I was even ab...

Easiest way to keep the same DVDpedia data on 2 Macs?

I recently got a second Mac, which I'm going to use when I travel. It's going to be networked to my primary Mac only occasionally. I'd like to load DVDpedia on it (which I'm pretty sure is OK with the license) and make a copy of my main DVDpedia library on it. Then, I'd like to periodically update (...

There's no need to spend $40 to get a bar code reader. You can spend $10-15 and get a modified CueCat reader that works beautifully. Just Google CueCat. You'll want a "modified" one that renders the bar codes as straight text, as if you typed in the ISBN from the keyboard.

The Mac Observer has a new Bookpedia review

The Mac Observer has just put up a review of Bookpedia. It's a favorable one. A few of the commenters have expressed curiosity about how how it compares to Delicious Library's feature set. Maybe some Pedia users who have prior experience with DL would want to contribute to the discussion over there....

Using DVDpedia as a video clip manager?

DVDpedia has been great for my DVD collection. But I have a worse mess I'd like to organize in something as simple and functional as a Pedia program -- hundreds of loose video files, in a variety of formats (WMV, MOV, AVI, etc.) They all have vaguely descriptive titles, but they're scattered in a nu...

One of the many things I love about DVDPedia is its ability to have custom fields, as opposed to dozens and dozens of built-in fields that may only appeal to a handful of people. So I'd prefer to have that custom field feature expanded, rather than more built-in fields added. There should be more th...

Conor, Over at MacObserver I read the hostile message from the DL developer (the appropriately named "Chief Monster"), and your civilized reply. I've respected you as a fantastic developer and as someone who provides excellent customer support, and now I also respect you as a person for yo...
