PocketPedia featured on front page of iTunes App Store

It's been there for a few days now.

Congratulations to Conor and Nora! PocketPedia is getting tons of enthusiastic reviews as well.

Re: iPhone backup slow after syncing PocketPedia

The new 2.0.1 iPhone firmware *should* improve synch times. I haven't had a chance to try it yet since upgrading.

CDPedia -- Format field

While many of us use a custom field for this it would be great to have a dedicated format field, with predefined values. Possible values: CD SACD (single layer) SACD (dual layer) DVDAudio HDCD CD-Hybrid with/Video CD/DVD 2 disc set LP Single-45 Single-12" 78 Cassette AAC Protected AAC Purchased...

Re: Pocketpedia -- wireless connection only?

Glad you were able to figure out the iTunes issue and thank you for sharing the solution for others; even more thrilled that you are enjoying Pocketpedia. Well in fact I shared the wrong solution. In retrospect my problem was twofold, and the full iTunes Library disk was irrelevant: 1) Super long b...

Re: iPhone backup slow after syncing PocketPedia

Yes, I am having the same issue with 2200+ entries in DVDPedia. As has been mentioned with a ~264MB size of the DVD data there is no conceivable reason this backup should take overnight. And obviously PocketPedia is far from the only app with the potential for a lot of data -- just the first one we'...

Re: Pocketpedia -- wireless connection only?

Re: slow synching...It could be something else entirely of course, but it doesn't hurt to ask. Well I finally found out what was wrong -- the disk on which my iTunes Library resides was full, and that was causing iPhones Synching to break. It's a long story that doesn't belong here, but suffice to ...

Re: Pocketpedia -- wireless connection only?

I have another question: How can I turn of and remove syncing for CDPedia while still keeping DVDPedia? My CDPedia collection just takes up too much space on my iPhone. I got an iPhone system warning after my initial CDPedia synch that the phone was full and I needed to delete pictures, video or mus...

Re: Pocketpedia -- wireless connection only?

Thank you for the feedback. The main page does say "wireless network" but we will try to make it clearer. Pocketpedia does support incremental syncs but a first sync must be completed (including the covers) for the next sync to be incremental. Thank you for the kind words and we are excit...

Re: Pocketpedia -- wireless connection only?

It must be wireless connection. When syncing a collection for the first time do plug in the USB cable as well to avoid the iPod Touch going to sleep during the sync. You might want to mention that on your main PocketPedia page. I got bitten by it twice before I figured it out. An incremental sync m...

Re: Front row integration

Very nice! One fairly serious bug though: It shows you movies that are in Collections that have been excluded from the Library. It would certainly be nice to have a subcategory that allows you to browse Collections, but at the top level you shouldn't be able to see Excluded Collections when browsing...

Re: IAFD title search broken

Conor wrote:You are looking the in the right place. I'll run another test, do check any firewall settings that might affect the connection.
But why would firewall settings break IAFD but not anything else? Not that I've monkeyed with the firewall anyway. My instinct is to try reinstalling the IAFD plugin.

Re: IAFD title search broken

No, nothing but EyeTV scheduling messages. Am I looking in the right place? -- it's different in Leopard -- Console: LOG DATABASE QUERIES: All Messages -- correct? I tried a IAFD search again, and you get the "Not found..." message absolutely instantly -- there is no way it's going anywher...

Re: IAFD title search broken

The IAFD was working directly, and searches from DvdPedia to IMDB were working fine. The titles I tried were defenitely listed on IAFD. You could try Deep Throat as a sample, but I don't think the title matters -- the error message was coming up instantly --- I didn't get the impresion the request w...

Re: iPod touch & iPhone

In that case enjoy the new version of the SDK from yesterday that includes interface builder... We your loyal customers, eagerly await: iPhone versions of the Pedias. iPhone remote for full screen mode (possibly leveraged to FrontRow as well). iPhone barcode scanning. Enjoy all the iPhone programing...
