Label custom fields for SQLite reference?

Post by Oolfanska »

Hi,

Would it be possible to label the custom fields permanently, in the prefs window, so that you can always tell which is field 1, 2, etc.? As it is, once the fields are given names it's not possible to tell which is which, for calling in SQL. Custom1 and Custom10 are deducible, but since the fields are listed in a grid you can't tell whether Custom2 (for instance) is the one to the right of Custom1 or the one below it.

What I'm imagining is just a short numeric label (1, 2, etc.) to the left of each field in the General tab. It would also be great if that identifier showed up anywhere else the custom field name was visible, such as in drop-down menus. So in the drop-down menu you would see something like: MyFieldName (7). But if that's getting messy, having it just in the General tab would at least provide a dependable reference.

Thank you for the suggestion. In case anybody else has doubts custom2 is the one that follows to the right.

Great suggestion.

If all the default "Custom #" were replaced I might easily think they were mapped top-to-bottom rather than left-to-right.
