Is exporting list of UPC codes possible?

Post by thevideojunkie »

Hi there. I have a big DVD and Blu-ray collection cataloged in DVDPedia, and I desire to export a list of UPC codes for the entire collection. Is it possible to do this? Appreciate replies. Thanks!

Yes it is very much possible :D

Now one of the great things about the "pedia's" is you can modify an existing template via File > Export Collection. Or you can create your own template and store it in: ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia/Templates. Either way you end up with a List of what you want and how you want it to look for Export.

Just follow these instructions here: Customizing templates for print and export

Any problems just ask away.

PS: I use a Free program called TextWrangler which you can download from the App store when I am doing any of this sort of stuff, but Text Edit will do (at a pinch :D )

FineWine, I made out well, thanks to your pointers. I was able to output a list of UPC codes for each title in my collection, and then import those into DVD Profiler on a Windows machine.

However, while working with Provider and DVDPedia (after a respite from the collecting hobby the last few years) I learned that I prefer the 'Pedia program by far. So, despite moving most of my other work to Windows 10 machines over the past couple of years, I find I will keep the iMac 27 as my movie collection database computer. I just updated to latest version of DVDPedia.
