Make sure to restart DVDpedia and then all the .html files in ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia/InfoTemplates should appear as an option, so double check the spelling of the folder maybe? Here is a screenshot of mine:

Mine appears just like yours. To be sure: InfoTemplates is one word, I and T are capital and the word is plural. Posters is a capital P. Perhaps I need to reboot the machine?

All those details are correct, a reboot of the machine is not necessary. Check your preference that your data folder is indeed ~/Library/Application Support/DVDpedia under the genrals tab and that you haven't moved it to a new location. Otherwise please email me your modified template so I can try it out.

Maybe you saved from BBEdit as a BBedit File? Try to save as "only text" (I don't have BBEdit, just guessing).

I tried it myself, the link in the Info View field shows up as Conor describes, but:
when I click on it, the MoviePosterDB Intro page comes up inside Info view with a message "Warning! The movie you requested is not found or it has no posters."
I'm not sure if this can work, isn't [key:imdb] giving out "tt+7-digit number" while MoviePosterDB requires only the 7-digit number without "tt"?

The problem was what Conor described: that I am using a different location for the preference folder (I have two copies of DVDpedia running on different machines and I tried to pick one location for both). When I transfered the file to the correct location it worked. Also, when I click on the movie poster link, all I get is the movieposterdb.com home-page. I then have to type in the name of the film and search. Otherwise, it works as Conor described.

Sorry, I did not notice it the first time. You are correct, I also get the 'Warning...' message.

I tried around with the code, then returned to the old one, and now it works. Strange. (I was wrong about [key:imdb] giving out more than the 7-digit number).
If it doesn't work for you, try to copy the URL from the Info view link ("Movie Poster") with right-click and paste it into Safari - is it the right one?
For me it shows the MoviePosterDB page of the requested movie.

No, it is still not working correctly. Here is the link I get when right-clicking in DVDpedia: http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/

Also, something strange. I copied the working InfoTemplates folder from one machine to the other and the link shows up. When I click the link in one machine, an internal browser window opens, but in the other machine, an external browser opens. Why is that?

I tested it a bit more, and finding a poster and setting it as the cover picture is really fast now. Great.
Btw, I noticed that for many movies the "primary poster" on MoviePosterDB is very unsatisfying. Take a look at these ones:
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0040919
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0029957
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0041587
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0042876
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0044081
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0045152
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0046031
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0047677
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0047528
http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/0048021
I doubt that selecting the "primary poster" automatically would be any better than the situation with the IMDb poster. That's why I think this one is quite a good solution (apart from getting it installed, that's a pain in the ...). Thanks.

I suppose my problem had something to do with downloading the Beta and opening it from the desktop while the old DVDpedia was still in the apps folder. Because neither adding a movie worked nor the link from the new info template. And suddenly both worked (without deleting the old app). Maybe it has something to do with cached internal links, but my understanding is very limited. Maybe this is a hint for Conor.

This is why I suggested that this works the same as with IMDB information: when you add a film, you get several choices you can preview until you find the correct one. When I go to movieposterdb, I sometimes choose not the most obvious. Sometimes I prefer the non-English ones. This is why I felt that a choice is really the best solution.

I still don't understand why the link is still not working for me.

The code in my template is exactly the one you posted ("The line now looks like this:..."). But if you want, I can send you my template. I suppose I can't do that with the forum mail function, you would have to send me your private mail.
Are you sure your both DVDpedia apps are the same version?

Now I know. Try to activate showing the IMDb number in the Info view field in the preferences. You should see something like "IMDb: 0012345". If I deactivate it, the link doesn't work any more.

I have both good and bad news. The good news is that I found a preference that said "open links in an external browser". When I turned that off, DVDpedia worked correctly.

Now the bad news: not all links work. For example, I added the film 'Max Manus', which IMDB found. However, when I clicked the movie poster link, the URL was now again the 'http://www.movieposterdb.com/movie/' (no ID number). Another film I tried ('A Matter of Life and Death'), also had the same problem. Since IMDB was able to find the film, I don't understand why the URL was not copied.
