Is there a way to change genres en masse?

Post by E_M »

As my book collection grows, I find myself want to create more genres. For instance, I want to rename "Antiques" to "Antiques-Furniture". I'm thinking that there is a file somewhere (a plist or something) that looks like this:
1 Antiques
2 Home and Garden
3 Fine Art

...and that by changing the description of the primary key I can change the genres all at once.

But I can't figure out how.

Can you help?

Thanks.

Select all the books with the same genre (sort them by genre and hold down shift key while clicking on the first book and the last book with antiques as a genre) then use the edit button. You will be able to rename the genre for all the books at once. If you would like to update the autofill suggestion as well do so in the preference panel under autofill.
