iBede plug-in not working anymore

Post by perarneflo »

The plug-in for iBede in Bookpedia is not working anymore. There is no iBede in the menu to pull down. I see the plug-in in the Application support folder.
The version of Bookpedia is 5.4.0.

The plugin needs to be updated for 64-bit mode. While the develop releases that update you can set Bookpedia back to 32-bit mode for compatibility. Selecting Bookpedia in your Finder and choosing "Get Info", check the box that say "Open in 32-bit mode". From then on you should see everything back to normal again. Once a new version of iBede is out you can uncheck the box.

And now the 64-bit version is released. I found it here:

Hello. I had the same problem with iBédé menu not showing up. I recently moved to a new MBPro and hence switched to Yosemite.

However, I downloaded the 64-bits version of the plug-in but it is not working. No specific instruction on the iBédé/Nenuphar website about how to install the plug-in. I simply extracted the file from the zip archive and double-clicked on it. Then I had the message that the plug-in is installed and would work properly after re-launching Bookpedia... but it does not.

I switched back to the 32-bits startup of Bookpedia and the iBédé menu shows up.

Any idea why I can't install the plug-in properly so that I can use it with 64-bits version of Bookpedia?

You can try to install it manually.

Right-click on the downloaded file and choose "Show content in package" (or something like that, not sure what the text is in English). Then navigate to the folder plug-in and copy the ibede.plugin. It's in the folder named 4.0

Then you go to /Library/Application Support/Bookpedia/Plug-ins/ and paste the downloaded file.
