and tonight I took a closer look at the problem.

I'm running macOS High Sierra 10.13.6 (17G13035)

In the latest Version of DVDpedia (6.0.1) DVDpedia can’t get linked VIDEO_TS folders to play in an external program anymore.

• I played around with the "hidden preference" in Terminal.app, tried to edit the DVDPlayer.applescript and got so far as to getting VLC to open with a blank window.
• I trashed the app and re-downloaded it and deleted my com.bruji.dvdpedia.plist as well to make sure all my experiments were gone.
  No change.
• Than I downloaded the 5.7.0 of DVDpedia and switched that for the 6.0.1, deleted my prefs and… the linked VIDEO_TS folders opened in DVDplayer

So, I think something must have changed where DVDpedia fills the "FILE_PATH" variable for the applescript after 5.7.0.
